Members  Covenant

love one another

A church covenant is a commitment among the members of a local church to live a life that is committed to honoring the Lord and living out His truths in such a way that God is glorified and others around us are impacted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The following covenant commitments that are held to by Post Oak Fellowship members are really nothing more than basic Christianity! While no one member is able to keep them perfectly, they are the mandates our Lord gives us in His Word that we should strive to live out in our daily lives. Our church covenant is a statement that reflects the heart desire of each member to live a life that will bring glory to God!

Members Covenant

As members of the Church at Post Oak Fellowship, we affirm this covenant with one another by God’s grace for our good and ultimately for God’s glory.1

Having been brought by divine grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to surrender our lives to Him, trusting in Him alone as our Lord and Savior, and being in agreement with the Statement of Faith and Beliefs of Post Oak Fellowship, we covenant together to glorify God by discipling all nations.2

Together, we will draw near to God in worship.3  We will delight in the glory of God, depend on the presence of God, grow in the knowledge of God, and submit to the Word of God as the all-sufficient authority in our lives and in His church.4

Together, we will hold fast to the hope we profess.5 We will regularly participate in communion as we solemnly and joyfully remember the past work of Christ on the cross, celebrate the present work of Christ at the Father’s right hand, and anticipate the future work of Christ in his return for his bride.

Together, we will stir one another up to love and good works.6  We will meet with one another consistently,7 pray for one another regularly,8 and serve one another selflessly.9 We will forgive one another as the Lord forgave us10 and gently restore those who sin.11

Together, we will share each other’s joys and bear each other’s burdens.12 We will listen carefully to one another, build one another up with our speech, and encourage one another with our example.13 We will humbly and gently confront one another and receive correction from one another in accordance with a New Testament understanding of church discipline and restoration.14

Together, we will give cheerfully and generously to the support of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel to all nations.15

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.16

Amen
